Diving in Lao Lao Bay
Diving in Lao Lao Bay.
The air was nippy even before we went to the water. As we approached the beach a number of vehicles parked fill the beach. A number of divers were already ahead trying to get a dive in before lunch. Joe who was my instructor, was also my dive buddy for that day . The tide was going down so we expect our swim back to the shore an exhausting one even with the ropes set underwater. We set our dive at 40 ft. After we set our gear and pre-dive check. We had to battle our way to the dive site. The sea was choppy. I almost lost a fin as we struggle to gear up on the water.
When we descended to about 5 feet water became calm. We then traced a route along the reef. We simple played around the reef. Of course we saw Nemo. People call the clown fish as Nemo these days because of movie. One of the clown fish we meet was perky. It was teasing us to touch then the cute little thing snap back after a minute of playing so we left them alone after our fun. We basically followed our route.
We swam back to the shore. The riptide was hard and visibility went down. The rope was our guide and lifeline. If we let go, it was sure we would drag out farther to the sea. So after 42 minutes underwater and with 1000 PSI in our tanks. We broke the sea surface. Again we walked to the shore with the waves hitting us.
I was exhausted. People never realize unless they do it that diving is pretty demanding sport especially shore diving where you have to walk to your dive.
So to reward ourselves we drove to the nearest Indian Food and Curry House. As we exchange our dive and plans for more around the beautiful island over Lamb Masala and Chicken Tandoori we end our dive da
